Fiber arts

I might think of myself as an artist, a painter/ illustrator to be precise, but working in fiber arts has always been a passion of mine. I love the feeling of yarn and fabric, and nothing pleases me more than to play around with textures. I have experimented with quilting, weaving and embroidery, and lately I have become obsessed with needlepoint and the art of the slow stitch.

Here are  examples of my latest needlepoint designs. As you can see, many are based on the work of famous artists. I designed each one on a blank canvas and  happily spent hours stitching them on a stretcher frame at the table. I am presently working on a new design for Frida Kahlo. Once she is complete, I hope to weave all the art canvases together, into one large tapestry.
